This, that, and a couple other things.

OKAY!

I have off of class today and I am looking for excuses not to get out of bed so I am going to give my obviously much-anticipated post on my time in Italy. Or, just a short recap of the last month or two.

Most of my time (and money) spent here has been used for traveling. So far I have been to Rome, Pisa, Spain, and Ireland. I think that is it so far. This weekend I am making my way down to Naples, to meet my family in Italy. I still can’t believe I will be meeting them, I have kept in touch with my cousins over the years so it will be pretty cool to see eachother. After this weekend is midterm week, and then I will be relaxing in Greece for 8 days. After that, I will be hanging out with my mom in various Italian Cities, and Jim will be here to visit as well. And Then! We are going to Amsterdam! I have many awesome trips planned, and that is the biggest part of my life in Italy.

Florence, the city that I live in, is beautiful. Small narrow streets, little shops, amazing restaurants. Lots of architecture that I am still not used to looking at. I have seen Michaelangelo’s David, been to a Florentina Futbol game, hiked to the Piazza Michaelangelo, tasted a lot of the amazing food, and have somewhat enjoyed the nightlife. We have seemed to stick it to 2 places to drink and dance. The Red Garder, which is an americanized bar with kareoke and lots and lots of English speaking people. They have great wings. and not too expensive drinks. We dance around there and drink, and when we are feeling good enough we venture over down the street to a club called Twice. Not exactly the classiest of clubs. It is actually pretty gross, and so are the Italian men who hunt in there. I usually just find someone cool to talk to, and wait for my friends to be ready to leave.

So far the best experience for me has been Ireland. I love the lifestyle there, instead of men sweating and smooshing their bodies on us, the pub we went to in Ireland had a little irish guy in the corner playing guitar, and everyone else was jumping around, twirling eachother, and having a great time. It was so much fun, and was so refreshing to see. Plus, everything in Ireland is so beautiful. We went everywhere, as well. We ran on 2 hours of sleep a night, slept in airports, got sick, got pink eye, my wallet was stolen, and came back a dirty mess but it was absolutely worth it.

Although I am enjoying my time here, and I’m so excited for my future trips and to see more of the world, i’m pretty excited to get back to home. I want to start working again. I miss Boston more than I ever thought I would. I miss my 3 wonderful friends in New Jersey. I miss seeing Jim more than once a month. I miss my parents, new jersey, applebees honey bbq wings, MY DOG, my new apartment and my 2 awesome roomates who i can’t wait to live with again, and all of my friends in Boston.

This is actually a lot longer than I expected. Soooooo….Yes. I will update in another month or two. Maybe. I can’t make any promises.

werd.

I am going to jump on the tumblr bandwagon again!

85% because everyone else is doing it, 5% because i ran out of cool websites to occupy me, and 10% cause i want everyone in my life to see what i’m doing in Italy.

But for now, i do not have much to say.

So much has been said about the floods in Pakistan- but comprehending that one fifth of the country is under water is almost impossible. But they say that a picture speaks a thousand words.
